Shipment options

At Orinaku, we've uncovered something peculiar in the realm of ecommerce. Many webshops utilize logistical partner platforms like Sendcloud. However, when it comes to selecting the transportation partner for shipping products, most of these webshops tend to follow their own preferences—whether it's for cost, service, or convenience. Typically, these decisions are made by the webshops themselves. But isn't this an aspect over which the customer should have control? After all, it's their purchase. At Orinaku, we firmly believe that this is a choice customers should be empowered to make. That's why, in our order steps, we offer various shipment company options. Now, as our customer, you have the authority to decide which company will deliver your parcel. Whether you opt for the one with the best track record, the most economical fees, or the highest level of package security during transportation, Orinaku is all about providing you with that choice.

However, it's not just about the service. As our valued customer, your decision is based on your preferences or the best insight available. This also means you bear a small amount of responsibility for that choice. So, if you select transport company X because of your positive experiences but encounter complications with our parcels, there is a degree of responsibility on your end. Rest assured, we are always here to assist you when such situations arise.

My Transport costs - weight based shipment prices

At Orinaku, the varied prices for shipment may seem puzzling, but they are actually quite straightforward. The reason behind these differences lies in a simple yet effective method: the weight of the products you're ordering.

Orinaku has adopted a system where the cost of shipping is directly tied to how heavy your order is. This makes sense because heavier packages require more resources and effort to transport. Think about it like this: shipping a feather-light item costs less because it doesn't strain transportation resources much, whereas shipping a heavier package demands more fuel, handling, and overall effort.

To make things even clearer, Orinaku partners with various transport companies to get your orders to you. These transport companies have their own fixed rates based on the weight of packages. Orinaku then combines these set rates with the weight of your specific products, creating a fair and proportional pricing system.

So, when you see different shipping prices, it's not random – it's a reflection of the actual cost of transporting your order based on its weight. The heavier the package, the more it costs to ship. This helps Orinaku cover the expenses associated with transporting a wide range of products and ensures that customers pay a fair amount for the resources required to deliver their orders.

Let's also not forget the geographical aspect! The shipping prices at Orinaku can also vary based on the destination country. Different countries often have distinct shipping regulations, taxes, and import duties, which directly impact the overall cost of shipping.

It's a simple and transparent way of making sure you get what you ordered, no matter where you are or how heavy your package might be.

Orinaku’s shipment options

As we mentioned, we have various shipment options for you to choose from. Some excel in transporting parcels within Europe, while others are masters of global delivery. The choice is yours. Just remember to make your decision based on your personal preference, experience, price, security, and delivery time.

Shipment insurance

Some of you might have noticed that there is a small checkbox below payment step 2, labeled "shipment." It displays the text: "Please secure my parcel with a shipment insurance for a small fee of €3.50" As you might have noticed, it is checked on by default, adding that small fee to the invoice. So, what is this fee and why is it on by default?

Well, we take the utmost care and a bit of pride in handling your order, and we want to do this in the best way possible. We believe that ensuring your order, specifically during transportation, is one of those important care options. This way, if something goes wrong with your product during transportation, you can immediately send it back, and we will replace it without having to go through complicated warranty issues. Claiming the loss of the product due to transportation falls under our responsibility as Orinaku, and you, as a customer, can simply enjoy the product as you intended.

Now, this next part is important. We have set this as the default because we believe it should be the standard when you buy a product. However, it is not a mandatory option but a choice. If you feel at any time that you don't want your order to be insured for transportation, that's okay. But we provide a fair warning: when this checkbox is off, and something happens during the transport of your order, the regular warranty route, as well as waiting time, applies to your order. So the choice is yours, whether to risk this or not.

incoterms

Incoterms

Incoterms are a set of internationaly shipment rules that help people who buy and sell things internationally to understand who is responsible for what during the shipping process. Each Incoterm, such as EXW, FOB, or DAP, tells you exactly when one party's job ends and the other's begins. For example, in EXW, the seller's responsibility stops when they make the goods available, while in CIF, the buyer takes over when the goods are loaded on the ship.

These terms also make it clear when the risk of something going wrong, like damage to the goods, shifts from the seller to the buyer. Additionally, they help decide who pays for different things like shipping, insurance, and customs duties.

In simple terms, Incoterms provide a standard way of making sure everyone involved in an international trade deal understands their roles and responsibilities, making the process smoother and less prone to misunderstandings.

Orinaku uses the Incoterms DAP (Delivered at Place). This means that the seller (Orinaku) takes responsibility for delivering the goods to a named place, typically the buyer's location or another agreed-upon destination. But the buyer (You) bears the risks and costs associated with transportation to that point, including import duties and taxes.

Please be advised that Incoterms only apply to customers outside of the European union!
